SSI Specialty Diver is your first step toward becoming an SSI Master Diver, and can begin as soon as you complete your Open Water Diver training. By completing any two SSI Specialty programs that interest you, and logging 12 open water dives, you will automatically receive the SSI Specialty Diver recognition rating along with your SSI Specialty program certifications.

SSI Advanced Open Water Diver is the next recognition rating on the path to becoming an SSI Master Diver, and includes four SSI Specialty program Digital Kits. After completing the four SSI Specialty programs that interest you, as well as 24 logged dives, you will automatically receive the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver recognition rating, along with your SSI Specialty program certifications.

Dive Master

What are the prerequisites?

Be a “Rescue” diver and be at least 18 years old. Have completed training in emergency first aid (primary and secondary care) in the past 24 months. Have a medical certificate clearing you for scuba diving. Have logged at least 40 dives to start the course and 60 dives to obtain certification. Please note that our price DOES NOT INCLUDE teaching materials and certification costs (2,5M IDR).

Note that although standards requires a minimum of 40 dives at the start of the course, we strongly recommend that you begin with more. The Dive Master course teaches you how to lead dives and how to organise diving activities through knowledge development sessions, exercises and practical workshops. Theory and practical workshops will cover:

The role, characteristics and duties of a Dive Master. The supervision of diving activities and student divers. Safety and risk management for divers. Conducting the activities specific to a Dive Master. The business of diving. Environmental awareness and protection of the oceans. Planning and managing dive trips. Mapping a dive site. Dive briefings. Review of rescue techniques at sea. Conducting deep dives (40m). Maintenance and use of equipment related to diving.

Dry Specialty course (no diving): from 1 550 000 IDR.
Two dives Specialty courses: from 2 350 000 IDR.

Each speciality training spreads over one or two days & includes:

Quite often a one to one with your instructor.
Self study of the corresponding manual.
Academic session & final exam.

Choose from the following Adventure Dives:

Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep dive (up to 30 meters), Digital Underwater, Photography, Drift dive (tides & currents), Multilevel and Computer, Fish Identification, Night dive (extra 150.000 IDR).

The dives include:

Academic sessions in the form of extended briefings with “Q&A”.
Confined water training sessions in our custom built natural pool (when required).
Full SCUBA gear, water, tea, coffee & lunch when boat diving.
Additional equipment specific to the dive, such as camera, underwater torch etc

You will get a digital recognition card for each Adventure Dive and this will be credited towards your next level up (Advanced).

Note that we offer the certification costs & throw in our awesome T-shirt if you complete the five Adventure Dives of the Advanced diver course.

We truly believe that a total of 6 open water dives, fine tuning advice and in depth introduction to marine life, will help you become a safer, better … happier diver. That’s why we have designed an original PREMIUM OPEN WATER COURSE for you to have time to go beyond the minimum requirements.

We recommend SSI for the flexibility and the advantages it provides our students. Note that the shorter two and half day course, with just 4 open water dives (& none of the other cool benefits of the PREMIUM) is available on request. The participant’s minimum age is 10 year old & the Open Water course includes:

This program is for students who don’t have time to complete the Open Water Diver program, and provides you with the training and experience required to dive in open water environments under the supervision of a dive professional. You will earn the SSI Scuba Diver certification, which can be upgraded to the SSI Open Water Diver certification with additional training.

Participant minimum age is 10 year old, duration 1 day, ideal when:

You do not have enough time to complete an Open Water Course.
You just want to see manta rays without going through much theory.
You want to know diving is for you, before committing to a course.

Program includes:

Small groups (4 pax per instructor max).
A thorough safety briefing and confined water practice.
One open water dive from the shore or two boat dives (choose the option that suits you best)

This program is ideal for:

Any certified diver who has not been diving for a while, or as a pre-assessment for a continuing education course.
Non-certified divers who are referred to complete training or Scuba Divers who are going on to Open Water Diver certification.

The Scuba Skills Update program includes:

A theory essentials refresher.
A skills update in confined water (soon to be in our custom built natural pool).
